Pharr, RGV – In an effort to bring government closer to the people and to more effectively respond to the needs of its citizens, Pharr officials announce the launch of a citizen question-and-answer section on the city’s official website. Pharr citizens with questions or concerns can submit their question via an online portal, and they will be answered directly by Pharr Mayor Ambrosio Hernandez, M.D. or City Manager Juan Guerra. Questions will be received by Mayor Hernandez and Guerra, who will research the appropriate response and respond directly to the citizen in a timely manner. The online tool will supplement outreach mechanisms already employed by the City of Pharr, such as “City Hall on Call” wherein Pharr department directors and staff set up shop in community areas to address citizen questions, issues and concerns in person. Other effective outreach tools that the City of Pharr uses are social media networks such as Facebook, Twitter, and Periscope, to name a few.
