MCALLEN, Texas – The McAllen Chamber of Commerce hosted an 88th Legislative Session Wrap-Up Luncheon on August 31 at Embassy Suites by Hilton McAllen.
The event provided Chamber members and the wider community an opportunity to gain insights directly from four local elected officials, state Sen. Juan Hinojosa of McAllen, state Rep. Ryan Guillen of Rio Grande City, state Rep. Sergio Muñoz, Jr., of Mission, and state Rep. R.D. ‘Bobby’ Guerra of McAllen. The three legislators shared information on the proceedings of the legislative session and elaborated on the initiatives they are actively pursuing for the betterment of the Rio Grande Valley. The moderator was former McAllen Mayor Jim Darling, chairman-elect of the McAllen Chamber.
The event was organized by the Chamber’s Government Affairs Council and sponsored by the City of McAllen, Boggus Ford McAllen, South Texas Health System, Ruby Red Hospitality and IBC Bank.
“The 88th Legislative Wrap-Up Luncheon serves as a bridge between our local elected officials and our community. This event is designed to foster an open dialogue to provide a better understanding of the legislative developments that impact our community,” said Gerry Garcia, director of public policy and government affairs for the Chamber.
