SAN JUAN, RGV – South Texas Luxury Experience Dealership Group celebrated its fourth opening of the group’s luxury brand of vehicle dealerships over the last five years.
The group held a grand opening celebration in San Juan for its newly built Acura facility on Tuesday evening. Speaking at the event were dealership owners Alfonso Cavazos, Bill Bird and Ron Heller.
“Every time I walk into this dealership, I get this overwhelming feeling,” said Bird during his speech. “Not only did they create a beautiful dealership. We came together to create a store that also feels beautiful. It feels good when you walk in here. I am proud to represent Acura, but I am equally as proud to represent the people, culture and families in the Rio Grande Valley.”
Heller addressed attendees with a tribute to what he called similar ideals set forth by both the dealership and the Honda Company.
“This never gets old. This is a wonderful opportunity for our employee partners and for our customers, offering more brands with our other dealerships,” Heller said. “This is a company that resonates with our families maybe more than anything else. The quality of this company brought to the United States, we now have the good fortune of representing them.”
The event brought numerous VIPs to San Juan. In attendance was Krista Owens, American Honda Motor Company’s national retail facility branding manager based in Torrance, CA. Representatives from Honda based in Irving, TX included Jerry Hershberger, Acura assistant zone manager for business development; Ricardo Ferracini, Acura zone manager for parts and service; and Javier Calderon, southwest zone manager for Acura sales.
“The joy of buying happens when Acura can provide exceptional services and products that exceed customers and dealers expectations,” Owens told attendees. “The second joy is the joy of selling. That’s what we want our dealers to experience when their staff is able to deliver quality products and services.
“Finally, there is the joy of creating,” she said. “That’s the joy we at the factory experience when we realize and recognize that our dealers and customers have had their expectations exceeded.”
Since its inception in 2010, the South Texas Luxury Experience Dealership Group has opened Mercedes-Benz of San Juan, Audi San Juan, and Jaguar Land Rover San Juan, and now Acura, which is the name of Honda’s luxury line of vehicles.
“This is Honda’s luxury line. Honda is a great product, and they come with a three-year, 36,000-mile warranty. Our vehicles come with a four-year, 50,000-mile warranty and the luxury car treatment which includes loaner cars, shoe shines, massages, pickup and delivery,” Cavazos said. “All our customers have to do is pick up the phone and say they need service. What we do is schedule a time to drop a loaner, pick up their vehicle, and then when we have it ready, we call them and ask where they would like to meet.
This means they don’t have to do anything other than go on with their daily life. What we have created is a sales and service process that is not tied in to our customer’s time and effort,” he said. “This is what Valley residents can expect.”
In the near future, customers can also expect proposed growth to the luxury line of dealerships. The group is currently pursuing a Porsche dealership, and is one of the finalists in the running to bring those vehicles to South Texas, Cavazos said.
We just haven’t heard yet, but we feel that we are one of the best candidates because we have our footprint a little larger, and just plug in all our processes into it to make it easier for the customer,” Cavazos said about its next impending dealership.
