McALLEN, RGV – IBC Bank-McAllen, a dedicated member of the Region One Deep South Texas Financial Literacy Alliance, announces its partnership with KRGV News Channel 5 to provide weekly segments, promoting financial literacy as part of the Region One Education Service Center GEAR UP program. Weekly segments will air every Thursday, beginning this month, and it will feature a different GEAR UP – Ready, Set, College! financial literacy segment.
The public service announcement (PSA) publicizing the weekly segments promotes the Alliance group and offers positive messages from South Texas educators and financial leaders, including IBC Bank, of the importance of investing in a college education and planning one’s financial future. The PSA will air continuously on KRGV-TV channel 5 and Region One GEAR UP will be showcasing this PSA during upcoming district events and at local, state and national conferences.
“We are excited for the Alliance’s partnership with KRGV-TV to announce this PSA,” IBC Bank Marketing Assistant Andrea Villaseñor said. “We are proud to support financial literacy to college students of McAllen through this medium and encourage our customers to tune into these weekly segments.”
For several years, IBC Bank has prided itself with working to secure partnerships with educators and school officials through its Money Buzz and Minitropolis® programs and the national Get Smart About Credit campaign.
