BROWNSVILLE, RGV – IBC Bank-Brownsville is proud to announce the promotion of Karen R. Peña from executive office administrative assistant to marketing manager.
In this position, Peña will manage the marketing department, while also promoting IBC Bank throughout the community. She will coordinate all financial literacy events, which serve as a tool to educate children and adult financial lessons. In addition, Peña will be the liaison between IBC Bank and nonprofits in Cameron County.

Peña joined IBC Bank in 2007 straight out of high school as a part time teller and worked her way up through the ranks and advanced to senior sales supervisor and finally to marketing manager. In addition, Peña is actively involved with the community as part of the IBC Community Development Corporation Board, where she has served as president, secretary, project chair, and newsletter coordinator. This organization looks for opportunities to give back to the community.
Peña is currently attending UTRGV working towards a degree in business. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family.
