EDINBURG, RGV – The India Association of the Rio Grande Valley is hosting Diwali Fest on Saturday, Nov. 2, at the Edinburg City Auditorium & Courtyard.
It runs from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. with an expo starting at 4 p.m.
Hari Namboodiri, president of IARGV, said Diwali is a festival of new beginnings and the triumph of good over evil and light over darkness. He said it coincides with harvest and New Year celebrations.
“This year we are bringing one of the best shows, all the way from Michigan. The show is called Bharat Darsan, a dance musical and an enchanting journey through the Indian subcontinent,” Namboodiri said.
“It is must see show for the family and is open to public. So, come and enjoy Indian classical dance, drama, Indian arts, and scrumptious Indian cuisine.”
Namboodiri added: “Cultural Integration always promotes international understanding.”
Regular tickets, which includes food and access to the expo cost $25.
