REYNOSA, Tamaulipas – Tottenham Hotspur, the Reynosa 7-a-side soccer team adopted by the Rio Grande Guardian, are champions of La Liga Furaber. They defeated Novatos de Ferni 3-1 in the championship final on Saturday. Their goals came from Leonardo Olvera (two) and Tomas Rodriguez.
Reynosa’s Tottenham Hotspur are managed by Emilio Rosales and captained by Guillermo Coronel. When the team formed the manager and players took the name Tottenham Hospur because they knew Rio Grande Guardian editor Steve Taylor is a big fan of the original Tottenham Hotspur Football Club, based in London, England.
