MISSION, Texas – Mission Economic Development Corporation CEO Teclo Garcia says his organization is proud to support the expansion of Tekna Impact, LLC, a Mission based manufacturer that provides labels and print solutions for various global industries.

Mission EDC awarded Tekna $32,000 to help the company more than double its operations in Mission, growing from a 7,500-square-foot facility to one that now measures 18,000 square feet. That’s a 240% increase in space and capacity.

The company, which also operates in South Carolina and Puebla, Mexico, also relocated 24 employees to Mission and will add an additional 18 full-time positions, 16 of which will be added within the first two years. Those positions will range in salary from $20,000 to $60,000.

Garcia said Tekna has been specializing in all things labels for 24 years. He said it combines sophisticated engineering with an attention to detail to ensure a product’s success.

“Our charge at the Mission EDC is to attract opportunities for investment, create new, good-paying jobs and enhance the local workforce. Tekna Impact checks all those boxes,” Garcia said. “So on behalf of the Mission EDC board, we are pleased to welcome to our community a great company and partner like Tekna Impact, and we look forward to its success for years to come.”

Garcia added that Tekna’s international trade operations underscore Mission EDC’s emphasis on leveraging Mexico investments and industries focused on trade as the Anzalduas International Bridge gets closer to becoming a fully commercial crossing.
