Thank you, Mr. Chairman. Good morning everyone.

Annette Franz

The McAllen Chamber board of directors named Blanca Cardenas as interim president and CEO. Ms. Cardenas has been with the Chamber for over 25 years and has most recently served as the organization’s Vice President of membership services. I am sure a lot of you know her. She has a deep understanding of the organization’s mission, purpose and core values, along with a passion for the role that the Chamber plays as an advocate for our business community.

Also, a committee has been assembled to conduct a search process for the new CEO and the staff is moving forward with several projects. We recently had a legislative update yesterday with Senators Chuy Hinojosa and Eddie Lucio and that was very well attended. We will also meet at a luncheon today for our consul from El Salvador.

We are also excited about Christmas in the Park. We have a Good Day luncheon coming up. We have an advertising campaign going on right now with our neighbors in Mexico. And we are working on our small business grant with the City of McAllen and with this money we should be finalizing some of those things. And we are excited also to be part of the strategic planning committee and we look forward to meeting with Mark on the 30th.

Thank you.
