Four Valley women honored with top TAMACC awards

AUSTIN, Texas – The Texas Association of Mexican American Chambers of Commerce recently hosted an event to honor a group of “extraordinary Texas women.”

The 2023 Women of Distinction awards show was held June 16 at the Omni Austin Hotel at Southpark.

Of the 13 recipients, four were from the Rio Grande Valley. The four were:

  • Dr. Ashley Bose, chief operating officer and medical director, Ashley Pediatrics and Industrial Health Works, Edinburg.
  • Evelyn Cano, president and co-founder, Disability Chamber of Commerce RGV; co-owner, Grande Produce, Pharr.
  • Deborah Cordova, founding member/manager, Walsh McGurk Cordova Nixon, PLLC, Edinburg.
  • Marie Garcia, business development representative for SAMES, Inc., McAllen.

TAMACC has been the leading Hispanic business organization in Texas since 1975. The group said the 13 recipients of the 2023 Women of Distinction award had achieved “exceptional accomplishments and made significant contributions to our Hispanic community.”
