EDINBURG, TEXAS – Edinburg is the fastest-growing city in the Rio Grande Valley.
According to the Census Bureau the population is 102,483. City leaders believe the true number is higher because there was a significant undercount during the 2020 Census.
How the Edinburg city administration is handling that growth and planning for more growth will be featured in the 2023 State of the City Address.
Mayor Ramiro Garza, Jr. will deliver the State of the City on March 9 at the Edinburg Conference Center at Renaissance. Garza’s address is titled “Empowering Today, Envisioning Tomorrow.”
It will be Garza’s first State of the City Address since taking office. The event is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. with a “Taste of Edinburg” with the mayor’s address scheduled to begin promptly at 7 p.m.
This annual affair highlights the City’s direction and plans for upcoming projects and vision for the future. During the State of the City Address, Garza is expected to reflect on the past year’s progress and accomplishments, celebrate the many successes the City has achieved, and share critical priorities and initiatives.
The address is free to the public.
