The Republican and Tea Parties of the Rio Grande Valley hosted a meet and greet at the Harlingen Public Library for Texas Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick this week.

The Lt. Gov. discussed the recent history of the conservative movement in the Texas Republican Party and the part played by the Tea Party. Patrick said the upcoming election is critical to the further existence of the republic and Texas as we know it.

He also said we must maintain an eight to nine percent margin for the 2016 Presidential election in order to send a strong message that Texas will remain red, Conservative and Republican.

Meanwhile, Lt. Gov. Patrick said, the Texas economy is strong and growing. It is the 11th largest economy in the world, just ahead of Australia and just trailing Canada. The Lt. Gov. said we are assimilating 1,000 new Texans every day! He said the Texas population will more than double in the forty-year span to 2040!

My thoughts

We need to concentrate on the positives of voting Republican up and down the entire ballot in the November Election. Think of three to five Supreme Court Justices from Donald Trump’s list for the continued integrity of the Constitution, including the First, Second, Fourth, Fifth, and Tenth Amendments.

Think of Obamacare being replaced by a market driven improvement in Health Care. Think of Constitutionally controlled immigration and closing of sanctuary cities. Think of a military strong enough and dedicated to destroying Islamic Terrorists in their home territory. Think of FBI agents arrested for murder in the Bureau of Land Management dispute in Oregon. Imagine the Bureau of Land Management out of a non-existent border dispute along the Red River in Texas.

Imagine a Keystone pipeline and coal-fired electricity generation. Think of a smaller Federal government and a decrease in the national debt.

If those don’t interest you, stay home or vote for Hillary. Remember you will not have any reason to bitch with her intended consequences.

Does Trump need an intervention? He speaks to the reasons that conservatives joined the Tea Party in droves in 2009. The people wanting to do the intervention ran the Republican elections that resulted in one term of Carter, two terms of Clinton and two terms of Obama. They need to get on the bandwagon, sit down and shut up. Quit enabling the Democratic Plantation. This is looking like 1964 all over again.
