EDINBURG, Texas – Dr. Samuel K. Snyder, M.D., recently gave a video interview to the Rio Grande Guardian about his work at DHR Health.
Dr. Snyder is part of the DHR Health Diabetes & Endocrinology Institute.
He is board certified by the American Board of Surgery and a member of the American and International Associations of Endocrine Surgeons, American Thyroid Association, and American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists.
Dr. Snyder earned his medical degree at Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine located in Maywood, Illinois. He completed a surgery internship and general surgery residency at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota.
In addition to practicing surgery, Dr. Snyder has had several academic and hospital appointments and has been heavily involved in the training of general surgery residents and endocrine surgery fellows. He has been the recipient of numerous teaching awards including Outstanding Surgeon/Teacher from Texas A&M University, consecutive Texas Monthly Magazine Super Doctor awards, The Leonard Tow Humanism in Medicine Award from the Texas A&M University College of Medicine graduating Class of 2016 and the most recent being The University of Wisconsin Endocrine Surgery 2019 Badger Professor Award given at the American Association of Endocrine Surgeon’s annual meeting.
He is widely published in peer-reviewed medical journals, the author of several book chapters and a member of several professional societies, including several Endocrine Surgical Associations.
